The game in Bogota was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Condores (7-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Piratas (1-13). Condores managed to secure a 9-point victory 93-84 on Saturday. Condores outrebounded Piratas 48-34 including 21 on the offensive glass. The former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) notched a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American power forward Kevin Mickens (207-83, college: George Mason) supported him with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Arnold Fripp (201-93, college: Coppin St.) did not help to save the game for Piratas. His fellow American import swingman Antonio Davis (196-82, college: Urbana) added 22 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. Condores have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Piratas lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Condores will meet Patriotas (#7) in the next round. Piratas will play against Halcones and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
