Regular Season Round 30: Laboral Kutxa - Gipuzkoa 101-73
Date: May 1, 2016
Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Laboral Kutxa (21-9) outplayed bottom-ranked Gipuzkoa (5-25) in Vitoria 101-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Laboral Kutxa. Gipuzkoa was better in fourth quarter 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Laboral Kutxa shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Alberto Corbacho (200-84) contributed with 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Laboral Kutxa players scored in double figures. American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) replied with 25 points and 7 rebounds and Croatian forward Zoran Vrkic (203-87) added 17 points in the effort for Gipuzkoa. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Laboral Kutxa maintains fourth position with 21-9 record. Gipuzkoa lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Laboral Kutxa will face Andorra (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gipuzkoa will play against FIATC Joventut (#14) in Badalona and hope to win that game.
