No shocking result in a game when third ranked Tigers (6-3) crushed bottom-ranked Lions (0-9) in Gawler 115-60 on Sunday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Lions' 40. Tigers forced 44 Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 46-31 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for Denelle Fawcett who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Mollie McKendrick (183-93, college: Boston U.) contributed with 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Abby Perry answered with 10 points and 5 rebounds and Alisha Carlin added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lions. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers maintains third place in League with 6-3 record behind leader Rockingham CF. Loser Lions still closes the standings with nine games lost. Tigers will face Warriors (#6) in Flinders Park in the next round. Lions will play on the road against Eagles (#4) in Goodwood and look forward to get finally their first victory.
