Regular Season Round 8: Eastern M. - N.Adelaide R. 69-66

There was an upset in Mt. Barker where higher ranked North Adelaide Rockets (4-4) were edged by tenth ranked Eastern Mavericks (1-7) 69-66 on Sunday. Strangely North Adelaide Rockets outrebounded Eastern Mavericks 47-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Haydn Barns who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Tom Cioffi (197-87) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Eastern Mavericks' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Luke Pike (194-90) produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and Adam Schild added 7 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the guests. Eastern Mavericks left bottom position moving up to ninth place in League. Loser North Adelaide Rockets dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Eastern Mavericks will face South Adelaide Panthers (#10) in Park Holme in the next round.
