Regular Season Round 28: Agua Prieta - Guaymas 93-87

The most important game in the last round took place in Agua Prieta between third ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (16-9) and eighth ranked Vaqueros (11-14) on Tuesday night. Ostioneros de Guaymas were defeated by Vaqueros in a tough game on the road 87-93. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with 24 points and 5 assists for the winners. Keller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Vaqueros' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International power forward Fernando Benitez (204-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and American swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton, agency: Interperformances) added 21 points and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) in the effort for Ostioneros de Guaymas. Four Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. Vaqueros have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Vaqueros maintains eighth position with 11-14 record. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side keep the third place with nine games lost. Vaqueros are again looking forward to face higher ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ostioneros de Guaymas will have a break next round.
