Regular Season Round 31: Roanne - Orchies 94-67

Sixteenth ranked Chorale de Roanne (13-18) crushed at home 18th ranked Orchesien BC (8-23) by 27 points 94-67, which is the biggest margin this round on Tuesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Chorale de Roanne. Orchesien BC was better in fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Orchesien BC 46-32 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chorale de Roanne looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of power forward Julien Lesieu (201-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) helped adding 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Chorale de Roanne players scored in double figures. Chorale de Roanne's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American swingman Anthony Smith (195-86, college: Liberty) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Soriah Bangura (198-93) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Chorale de Roanne moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Denain. Loser Orchesien BC stay at the bottom position with 23 games lost. Chorale de Roanne will face higher ranked Boulazac Basket (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orchesien BC will play against Provence Basket (#5) in Fos-sur-Mer and hope to win that game.
