Regular Season Round 28: Obregon - Hermosillo 81-100

Date: May 3, 2016
CIBACOPA top team - Rayos de Hermosillo (18-7) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (8-17) 100-81. Rayos de Hermosillo made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon 52-31 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American swingman Michael Craig (196-91, college: S.Mississippi) who scored that evening 31 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) supported him with 27 points and 6 rebounds. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Even 25 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by American point guard Malcolm Canada (191, college: Auburn) did not help to save the game for Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon. Naturalized American swingman Adam Arciniega (201, college: Bethel, KS) added 22 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Rayos de Hermosillo have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-7 record. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 17 games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon will play again against the league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo (#1) and hope to secure a win.
