Regular Season Round 28: Guasave - Mazatlan 79-107

An interesting game for Lobos UAD Mazatlan (18-9) which played road game in Guasave against 4th ranked Frayles de Guasave (14-11). Second ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan had an easy win 107-79. Lobos UAD Mazatlan outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 25-14 including 20 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and American power forward Kourtney Roberson (206-90, college: Texas A&M) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. Lobos UAD Mazatlan's coach Eric Weissling felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Jordan Williams (198, college: N.Texas) responded with 22 points and his fellow American import center Marcus Bell (206-90, college: CS Stanislaus) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Lobos UAD Mazatlan and five Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. Lobos UAD Mazatlan have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-9 record having just two point less than leader Hermosillo. Frayles de Guasave at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Frayles de Guasave will play again at home against the league's second-placed Lobos UAD Mazatlan (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
