Regular Season Round 15: Bucaros - Sabios 78-76

Important game to mention about took place in Bucaramanga. Fourth ranked Bucaros (9-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Sabios (8-7) 78-76 in the game for the third place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-13. But Sabios won second period 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bucaros players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Daniel Sapp (193) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 4 assists. American Tayron Thomas (191-84, college: Philadelphia) accounted for 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. The former international center John Hernandez (207-84) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and American forward Eric Williams (198-85, college: Tarleton St.) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Sabios in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bucaros moved-up to third place. Sabios at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Bucaros will again play against Sabios (#4) in Manizales in the next round. Sabios will have a break next round.
