Regular Season Round 32: St Chamond - Le Portel 88-83 OT

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Le Portel (18-14) against sixteenth ranked Saint Chamond (13-19) on Friday night. Visiting Le Portel was defeated by Saint Chamond in a tough game in Saint Chamond in overtime83-88. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-18. But Le Portel won third quarter 24-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Le Portel used huge pressure winning it 21-16 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 5-10. Le Portel was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Matthieu Guichard (188-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Dustin Salisbery (193-84, college: Temple) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American swingman Sean Mosley (192-89, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Benoit Mangin (191-88) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Le Portel. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saint Chamond moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Roanne. Le Portel lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Boulazac. Saint Chamond will play against higher ranked Nantes (#7) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Le Portel will play against Poitiers and hopes to get back on the winning track.
