We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (12-15) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (10-17) 99-89. Pioneros Los Mochis were ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 67-48 second half run of Fuerza Guinda Nogales. They made 24-of-26 charity shots (92.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Nigerian-Jamaican swingman Weyinmi Rose (196-86, college: Providence) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). American forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Fuerza Guinda Nogales players scored in double figures. American Leon Gibson (206-91, college: Houston) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Travis Franklin (200-88, college: Colorado St.) added 24 points in the effort for Pioneros Los Mochis. Fuerza Guinda Nogales maintains ninth position with 10-17 record. Pioneros Los Mochis at the other side keep the eighth place with 15 games lost. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will again play against higher ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pioneros Los Mochis will have a break next round.
