Very important is a road loss of second ranked ALM Evreux (20-12) against eleventh ranked Lille Metropole (16-16) on Friday night. Visiting ALM Evreux was defeated by Lille Metropole in a tough game in Lille 83-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ALM Evreux. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-83. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Burkinabe Jean-Victor Traore (204-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds and American point guard Tajuan Porter (170-88, college: Oregon) who added 21 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Senegalese power forward Babacar Niang (206-91, agency: Comsport) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Lille Metropole moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Vichy Clermont and Poitiers. Loser ALM Evreux keeps the second position with 12 games lost. Lille Metropole will meet Souffelweyersheim (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ALM Evreux will play against Provence Basket (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
