Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (20-13) defeated at home 17th ranked SPO Rouen (6-27) 85-74. The game was mostly controlled by Pau-Lacq-Orthez. SPO Rouen was better in third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Michael Thompson (177-89, college: Northwestern) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import guard Lance Harris (195-84, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 22 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Alain Koffi (207-83, agency: Beo Basket) who recorded 24 points and 8 rebounds and American Devin Oliver (201-92, college: Dayton) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four SPO Rouen players scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Dijon and ASVEL. SPO Rouen at the other side keeps the seventeenth position with 27 games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's next round opponent will be Entente Orleans 45 (#11) on the road. SPO Rouen will play against Olympique Antibes (#13) and hope to win that game.
