Regular Season Round 29: Miramar - Barbera 54-99

There was a minor upset when leader Miramar (13-7) was outscored at home by fourth ranked Barbera (12-8) 99-54 on Saturday. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Group C Perman. The game without a history. Barbera led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Barbera forced 19 Miramar turnovers. Miramar was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Albert Mas (190-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Point guard Francesc Cairo (185-83) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Five Barbera players scored in double figures. Forward Javier Medori (200-93) answered with 7 points and 9 rebounds and center Carlos Poyatos (207-94) added 10 points in the effort for Miramar. Miramar's coach Pau Tomas gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Barbera moved-up to second place in Group C Perman, which they share with Pardinyes-L. and Masnou. Miramar at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still keeps top position with seven games lost.
