An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bucaramanga. Third ranked Bucaros faced one of their biggest challengers Sabios. Host Bucaros (10-6) defeated guests from Manizales (8-8) 108-103. Bucaros made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Daniel Sapp (193) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and American Tayron Thomas (191-84, college: Philadelphia) who added 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international center John Hernandez (207-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Canadian guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA) scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bucaros maintains third position with 10-6 record having just three points less than leader Academia. Loser Sabios keep the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Condores. Bucaros will meet Condores (#4) in the next round. Sabios will play against the league's leader Academia and hope to secure a win.
