Second Stage Round 14: Arantia - Residence 81-78

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Residence (15-17) in Larochette on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Arantia (23-9) 81-78. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Residence won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arantia dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Residence's 40. They outrebounded Residence 49-38 including 34 on the defensive glass. Arantia looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Residence's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Mike Jones (203-83, college: N.Texas) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 22 rebounds. The other American import guard Aaron Harrison (198-93, college: Lynn) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. British-Nigerian Oladapo Ayuba (198-86, college: UMKC) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Residence players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Arantia used an opportunity after Bascharage lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Residence. Residence at the other side still keeps top place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Grengewald.
