Very expected game when 15th ranked Cholet Basket (10-23) was smashed at home by eleventh ranked Entente Orleans 45 (17-16) 86-65. Cholet Basket was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 52-29 second half run of Entente Orleans 45. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kyle McAlarney (183-87, college: Notre Dame) who scored 25 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Chevon Troutman (202-81, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Entente Orleans 45 players scored in double figures. Entente Orleans 45's coach Pierre Vincent felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Italian-American forward Joe Trapani (203-88, college: Boston Coll.) who recorded 18 points and 5 steals and Cameroonian center Junior MBida (204-90) added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Entente Orleans 45. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Limoges. Cholet Basket lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 23 games lost. Entente Orleans 45's next round opponent will be higher ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#9) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cholet Basket will play against the league's leader Monaco (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
