Regular Season Round 32: Charleville - Bourg 66-77

Date: May 7, 2016
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked JL Bourg (19-13) defeated on the road 13th ranked Charleville-Mezieres (14-18) 77-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by JL Bourg. Charleville-Mezieres was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JL Bourg dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Charleville-Mezieres' 34. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when JL Bourg made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). The other American import swingman Quincy Taylor (194-82, college: UAB) chipped in 14 points. American Christopher McKnight (201-87, college: Akron) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Central African power forward Maxime Zianveni (198-79) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JL Bourg moved-up to third place, which they share with Provence Basket. Loser Charleville-Mezieres keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. JL Bourg will face JA Vichy (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Boulazac Basket (#5) and hope to win that game.
