Very expected game when 15th ranked Chorale de Roanne (13-19) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Boulazac Basket (18-14) 97-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Boulazac Basket. Chorale de Roanne was better in third quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Boulazac Basket won last quarter 29-15. The best player for the winners was American point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) who scored 29 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import power forward Franklin Hassell (203-88, college: ODU, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Boulazac Basket's coach Antoine Michon allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Julien Lesieu (201-83) added 21 points and 4 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Boulazac Basket moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Le Portel. Loser Chorale de Roanne keeps the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. Boulazac Basket will face Charleville-Mezieres (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chorale de Roanne will play against Saint-Quentin and hope to win that game.
