The game in Tijuana was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Vaqueros (13-15) played at the court of 8th ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (14-16). Vaqueros managed to secure a 7-point victory 90-83. Vaqueros made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Tijuana Zonkeys outrebounded Vaqueros 48-35 including 20 on the offensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) chipped in 27 points and 5 rebounds. Worth to mention Keller played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) produced 8 points and 16 rebounds and guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Vaqueros. Despite that victory Vaqueros went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with Los Mochis. Defending champion Tijuana Zonkeys dropped to the sixth place with 16 games lost. Vaqueros' next round opponent will be higher ranked Frayles de Guasave (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
