Hitachi Sunrockers managed to secure a 8-point victory 82-74. It looked good early as Chiba Jets took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hitachi Sunrockers had a 25-15 second period charge getting the lead and Chiba Jets were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-82. Hitachi Sunrockers made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Chiba Jets only scored seven points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) added 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Chiba Jets. Chiba Jets' coach Zeljko Pavlicevic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains fifth place with 34-20 record. Chiba Jets at the other side keep the eighth position with 33 games lost.
