Third-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (17-13) gave a tough game to first ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (23-7) on Tuesday. The visitors from Hermosillo managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected easier game. Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Ostioneros de Guaymas 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Michael Craig (196-91, college: S.Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) who added 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. International power forward Fernando Benitez (204-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Jordan Bedford (183-92, college: Belhaven) scored 16 points. Rayos de Hermosillo have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-7 record. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side dropped to the fourth place with 13 games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ostioneros de Guaymas will play again at home against the league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo (#1) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
