Regular Season Round 33: Guaymas - Hermosillo 86-87

Third-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (17-13) gave a tough game to first ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (23-7) on Wednesday. The visitors from Hermosillo managed to secure only one-point victory 87-86. However their fans expected easier game. American swingman Michael Craig (196-91, college: S.Mississippi) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Pe'shon Howard (190-90, college: USC) chipped in 21 points. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jordan Bedford (183-92, college: Belhaven) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Michael Lizarraga (200-89, college: CS Northridge) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 23-7 record. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 13 games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo are looking forward to face Tijuana Zonkeys (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ostioneros de Guaymas will play against the league's second-placed Lobos UAD Mazatlan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
