Liga DirecTV top team - Academia (14-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Sabios (8-9) in Manizales 74-59. Academia had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. Puerto Rican-Dominican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) stepped up and scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and naturalized Venezuelan forward Michael Hinestroza Javes (208-90, college: UALR) chipped in 12 points and 14 rebounds. Luis Blandon (-88) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center John Hernandez (207-84) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Academia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-3 record. Sabios lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with Condores and Halcones. Academia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sabios will play again at home against the league's leader Academia (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
