Regular Season Round 33: Unicaja - Valencia 77-65

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Valencia Basket (27-6) against sixth ranked Unicaja Malaga (19-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Valencia Basket was defeated by Unicaja Malaga in Malaga 77-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Valencia Basket. It looked good early as Valencia Basket took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Unicaja Malaga had a 23-17 second period charge getting the lead and Valencia Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-77. Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 assists for the winners and American-Georgian Will Thomas (203-86, agency: Two Points) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: Beo Basket) with 12 points and American-Croatian center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU, agency: Priority Sports) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Unicaja Malaga maintains sixth place with 19-14 record. Valencia Basket at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Unicaja Malaga will play against Blusens Monbus (#15) in Santoago de Comp in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valencia Basket will play at home against Andorra (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
