Regular Season Round 10: Hills H. - Newcastle H. 84-97

Not a big story in a game in Baulkham Hills where 9th ranked Hills Hornets (2-8) were defeated by second ranked Newcastle Hunters (7-4) 97-84 on Saturday. Newcastle Hunters forced 22 Hills Hornets turnovers and had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hills Hornets were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international power forward Russell Hinder (208-79, college: Augusta) fired 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Puerto Rican-American guard Justynn Hammond (196-87, college: Rogers St.) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Newcastle Hunters players scored in double figures. Naturalized Greek swingman Emils Duselis (192) produced 22 points and American guard Phillip Collins (190, college: St.Joseph, IN) added 14 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newcastle Hunters maintains second position in League with 7-4 record having just ten point less than leader Townsville H. Loser Hills Hornets dropped to the eleventh place with eight games lost. Newcastle Hunters will face Sutherland Sharks (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Hills Hornets will play against Spiders in Hornsby and hope to win that game.
