Not a big story in a game in Mill Park where 9th ranked Whittlesea City (2-8) was defeated by sixth ranked Ringwood Hawks (6-4) 86-77 on Saturday. Ringwood Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Whittlesea City's 42. They outrebounded Whittlesea City 53-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. American guard Nathan Champion (190, college: Le Moyne) fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Nathan Truman (187-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Loser Whittlesea City dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. Ringwood Hawks will face Bulleen Boomers (#12) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Whittlesea City will play against the league's second-placed Knox Raiders in Wantirna South and hope to win that game.
