Regular Season Round 18: Condores - Bucaros 83-94

Date: May 14, 2016
The game between Top Four teams took place in Cundinamarca. One of their biggest challengers host Condores (8-10) lost to third ranked Bucaros (12-6) 94-83. American Tayron Thomas (191-84, college: Philadelphia) scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Daniel Sapp (193, college: California, PA) chipped in 21 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and the former international power forward Jairo Mendoza (203-85, college: New Orleans) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Condores' coach Tomas Diaz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bucaros have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-6 record having just three points less than leader Academia. Condores at the other side keep the fourth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Sabios and Halcones. Bucaros are looking forward to face Halcones (#5) in Cucuta in the next round. Condores will play on the road against Sabios in Manizales and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
