Important game to mention about took place in Wendouree. Fifth ranked Frankston Blues (4-5) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Ballarat Rush (4-3) 76-75 on Saturday evening. Strangely Ballarat Rush outrebounded Frankston Blues 42-27 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Kayla Standish (187-89, college: Gonzaga) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and forward Kelly Bowen (182-89, college: Gonzaga) accounted for 26 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Abigail Wehrung (177-95) came up with 24 points and point guard Kerryn Harrington (172-92) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for Ballarat Rush in the defeat. Frankston Blues maintains fifth place in League with 4-5 record. Ballarat Rush at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Frankston Blues will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ballarat Rush will play against the league's leader Spectres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
