The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Hunters' (7-1) home victory over second-best Comets (5-2) 60-30 on Sunday. Hunters forced 24 Comets turnovers. Shannon Novosel stepped up and scored 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Sophie Kleeman (175-90, college: Troy) chipped in 10 points. Hunters' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Rhiaan Te-Hira with 4 points and 8 rebounds and Morgan Jenkins scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Hunters maintains first place in League with 7-1 record. Loser Comets keep the second position with two games lost. Hunters will face Sharks (#5) in Sutherland in the next round. Comets will play at home against Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and hope to win that game.
