There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Hawks (2-8) won against at home 9th ranked Hills Hornets (2-8) 72-60 on Sunday. Hawks made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Hills Hornets turnovers. Jarrod Sorenson fired a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Sean Mullan (198-90, college: Nova SE) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. American guard Phillip Collins (190, college: St.Joseph, IN) produced 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Michael Claus (, college: LA Pierce JC) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hills Hornets' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hawks moved-up to tenth place in League. Hawks will face higher ranked Sydney City Comets (#4) in Alexandria in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hills Hornets will play on the road against Spiders (#5) in Hornsby and hope to win that game.
