Regular Season Round 19: Bucaros - Halcones 112-96

There was no surprise in Bucaramanga where 5th ranked Halcones (8-11) were defeated by third ranked Bucaros (13-6) 112-96 on Monday. Bucaros shot 66.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 61.5 percentage. Bucaros looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American-Jamaican guard T.J. Sapp (190-92, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory scoring 36 points (!!!) and 5 assists (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). Costa Rican swingman Michael Jackson (197-87) helped adding 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side naturalized Venezuelan point guard Jorge Leon (188-79) responded with 23 points and American forward R.J. McGhee (198, college: Oklahoma City, agency: CGL Sports) scored 20 points and 6 assists. Four Bucaros and five Halcones players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Bucaros. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Cimarrones. Loser Halcones keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Condores. Bucaros will again meet at home Halcones (#5) in the next round. Halcones will have a break next round.
