The game between second ranked Cimarrones (13-6) and seventh ranked Patriotas (7-12) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Cimarrones were defeated by Patriotas in a tough game in Boyaca 63-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cimarrones. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Patriotas made 7 blocks. American forward Titus Mims (201, college: Hardin-Simmons) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import power forward Aramie Brooks (203-87, college: Northwestern St.) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds. Brooks is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Tyquane Goard (201-93, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Rodrigo Caicedo (180-88) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Cimarrones' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains seventh place with 7-12 record. Cimarrones at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. They share it with Bucaros. Patriotas are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Cimarrones in Quibdo-Choco in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cimarrones will have a break next round.
