Regular Season Round 34: Provence Basket - Charleville 70-64
Date: May 17, 2016
Not a big story in a game in Fos-sur-Mer where 13th ranked Charleville-Mezieres (14-20) was defeated by third ranked Provence Basket (21-13) 70-64. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Charleville-Mezieres was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 38-29 second half run of Provence Basket. It was a very good performance for American forward Rick Jackson (206-89, college: Syracuse, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Dia (201-78) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Provence Basket's coach Remi Giutta allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Anthony Racine (190-94) replied with 13 points and Damien Bouquet (196-94) added 9 points and 5 assists in the effort for Charleville-Mezieres. Provence Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Evreux. Charleville-Mezieres lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 20 games lost.
