Regular Season Round 20: Sabios - Condores 81-83

The most exciting game of round 20 in the Liga DirecTV took place in Manizales. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Sabios (9-11) to sixth ranked Condores (9-11) 83-81 in the game for the fourth place. The former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Kevin Mickens (207-83, college: George Mason) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international center John Hernandez (207-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 21 rebounds and Venezuelan forward Juan Herrera (197-81) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Sabios. Four Condores and five Sabios players scored in double figures. Condores moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sabios and Halcones. Condores is looking forward to face league's leader Academia in Montana in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Sabios will play on the road against Halcones in Cucuta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
