Regular Season Round 37: Guasave - Hermosillo 76-96

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Guasave. First ranked Rayos de Hermosillo faced 3rd placed Frayles de Guasave. Guests from Hermosillo (25-9) smashed host Frayles de Guasave (20-14) 96-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Frayles de Guasave. Rayos de Hermosillo dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Frayles de Guasave's 42. They outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 37-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Rayos de Hermosillo looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Guard Jordan Williams (198, college: N.Texas) produced 26 points and 7 rebounds and Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) added 28 points respectively for lost side. Frayles de Guasave's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Rayos de Hermosillo maintains first place with 25-9 record. Frayles de Guasave at the other side keeps the third position with 14 games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo are looking forward to face Caballeros de Culiacan (#5) at home in the next round. Frayles de Guasave will play against Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
