Regular Season Round 39: Obregon - Guasave 90-68

The game between third ranked Frayles de Guasave (20-16) and ninth ranked Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (14-20) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Frayles de Guasave was crushed by Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon in Ciudad Obregon 68-90. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Frayles de Guasave's 26. They outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 42-27 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Naturalized American swingman Adam Arciniega (201, college: Bethel, KS) contributed with 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jordan Williams (198, college: N.Texas) answered with 28 points and the other American import Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Frayles de Guasave. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Los Mochis. Frayles de Guasave lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 16 games lost. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon is looking forward to face Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#10) on the road in the next round.
