Very expected game when 8th ranked Redbacks (7-7) lost to fourth ranked Buccaneers (10-6) in Northbridge 105-110 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 35-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American forward Maurice Barrow (198-92, college: Fairfield) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Matthew Adekponya (194-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American-French guard Jourdan Demuynck (198-90, college: Prairie View A&M, agency: HMS) replied with 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and guard Benjamin Smith (192-89) added 26 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Redbacks. Five Buccaneers and four Redbacks players scored in double figures. Buccaneers maintains fourth position in League with 10-6 record. Loser Redbacks dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. Buccaneers will face Giants (#9) in Kalgoorlie in the next round where they are favorite. Redbacks will play on the road against Flames in Rockingham and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
