CIBACOPA top team - Rayos de Hermosillo (27-10) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eleventh ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (12-23) 92-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Garra Canera de Navolato. Rayos de Hermosillo dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Garra Canera de Navolato's 44. Rayos de Hermosillo had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) who scored that evening 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Alfonzo McKinnie (203, college: Green Bay) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Tamir Jackson (190-90, college: Rice) did not help to save the game for Garra Canera de Navolato. His fellow American import forward Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) added 28 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Garra Canera de Navolato's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rayos de Hermosillo maintains first position with 27-10 record. Garra Canera de Navolato at the other side stay at the bottom place with 23 games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Garra Canera de Navolato will play again at home against the league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
