The game in Agua Prieta was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (18-17) played at the court of sixth ranked Vaqueros (18-18). Vaqueros managed to secure a 6-point victory 90-84 on Wednesday. Vaqueros made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St., agency: HMS) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Jordanian swingman Jimmy Baxter (196-80, college: S.Florida) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Vaqueros have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Vaqueros maintains sixth place with 18-18 record. Caballeros de Culiacan lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 17 games lost. Vaqueros will meet at home league's second-placed Lobos UAD Mazatlan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caballeros de Culiacan will play against Garra Canera de Navolato and hope to secure a win.
