An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Alexandria. Second ranked Spireds faced 3rd placed Comets. Guests from Hornsby (6-2) smashed host Comets (5-4) 77-51. Spireds forced 19 Comets turnovers and outrebounded them 48-37 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Jaimee Kennedy (178-88) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Kate Seebohm (170-91, college: California, PA) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Spireds players scored in double figures. Bree Delaney produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and Morgan Jenkins added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Spireds maintains second place in League with 6-2 record having five points less than leader Rockingham CF. Loser Comets keep the third position with four games lost. Spireds will face North Bears (#6) in Crows Nest in the next round. Comets will play on the road against Sharks in Sutherland and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
