The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Cougars' (4-7) road loss to seventh ranked Boomers (6-5) 62-70 on Saturday. Boomers forced 23 Cougars turnovers. American guard Ariel Thomas (168, college: Oregon) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and Dutch guard Natalie Van Den Adel (185-90, college: Colorado St.) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. Boomers maintains seventh place in League with 6-5 record. Loser Cougars keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Boomers will face Tigers (#10) in Melbourne in the next round. Cougars will play at home against Whittlesea and hope to win that game.
