The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Sydney City Comets' (8-3) home victory over 5th ranked Spiders (7-5) in Alexandria 93-62 on Saturday. Sydney City Comets looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Spiders' players. It was a good game for power forward Tom Dawson (197) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Louis Brandt contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Sydney City Comets players scored in double figures. Kulvir Grewal replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Joshua Chapman added 12 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Spiders. Sydney City Comets moved-up to second place in League. Loser Spiders keep the fifth position with five games lost. Sydney City Comets will face Sutherland Sharks (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spiders will play against the league's leader Norths Soul Sports Bears (#1) and hope to win that game.
