Regular Season Round 24: Bucaros - Piratas 90-53
Date: May 28, 2016
The game with biggest result difference took place in Bucaramanga. Local Bucaros (14-10) outscored 8th ranked Piratas (4-20) 90-53. Bucaros dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Piratas' 30 and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by international swingman Michael Jackson (197-87) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 rebounds and international point guard Leonardo Salazar (178) supported him with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Bucaros players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by American swingman Antonio Davis (196-82, college: Urbana) did not help to save the game for Piratas. His fellow American import forward Arnold Fripp (201-93, college: Coppin St.) added 8 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bucaros maintains third position with 14-10 record having seven points less than leader Academia. Piratas at the other side stay dead last with 20 lost games. Bucaros' next round opponent will be Patriotas (#7) in Boyaca. Piratas will play at home against Sabios and hope to win that game.
