Regular Season Round 43: Obregon - Guaymas 74-71

The game between third ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (22-16) and ninth ranked Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (16-22) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Ostioneros de Guaymas were edged by Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon in a tough game in Ciudad Obregon 71-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ostioneros de Guaymas. It was a great evening for American forward Taylor Brown (198-89, college: Bradley) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Thomas Gipson (201-93, college: Kansas St.) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Dominican guard Luis Flores (188-81, college: Manhattan, agency: 011 Sports) responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Five Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Los Mochis. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side keep the third position with 16 games lost. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon is looking forward to face higher ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ostioneros de Guaymas will play against Pioneros Los Mochis (#9) and are hoping to win this game.
