Regular Season Round 24: Academia - Aguilas 89-81

Leader Academia delivered the twenty first victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Patriotas (8-16) 89-81 in Montana. Academia shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for Puerto Rican-Dominican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Canadian swingman Tyler Murray (195-90, college: Wagner) contributed with 11 points and 7 assists for the winners. Five Academia players scored in double figures. Academia's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Aramie Brooks (203-87, college: Northwestern St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Titus Mims (201, college: Hardin-Simmons) added 20 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Patriotas. Academia (21-3) have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Defending champion Patriotas keep the seventh place with 16 games lost. Academia will play against Halcones (#5) in Cucuta in the next round. Patriotas will play at home against Bucaros and hope to get back on the winning track.
