There was an upset when higher ranked Buccaneers (10-6) were outleveled by fourteenth ranked Suns (2-12) in Kalamunda 145-123 on Sunday. Suns forced 28 Buccaneers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a good game for American guard Brandon McGill (190-89, college: St.Vincent) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. Timothy Squire contributed with 31 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Suns' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Matthew Wundenberg (200-83) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Maurice Barrow (198-92, college: Fairfield) added 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Buccaneers. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Suns maintains fourteenth position in League with 2-12 record. Loser Buccaneers keep the fourth place with six games lost. Suns will face higher ranked Eagles (#10) in Morley in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Buccaneers will play at home against Giants (#9) and hope to win that game.
