Oberwart rallied past Wels to open 2-0 lead in the championship series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-13. But Raiffeisen Wels won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 28 personal fouls committed by Raiffeisen Wels helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 17 points, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Chris McNealy (194-92, college: Cal-Irvine) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest.
