Regular Season Round 12: Hume City - McKinnon C. 74-114

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Hume City Broncos (8-5) were smashed by seventh ranked McKinnon C. (8-4) in Tullamarine 114-74 on Sunday. McKinnon C. outrebounded Hume City Broncos 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. It was a good game for American swingman Casey Walker (196-92, college: Delaware St.) who led his team to a victory with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Dillon Stith (200, college: St.Vincent) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Canadian forward Javari Williams (195, college: Simon Fraser) replied with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Shaun Prasad added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hume City Broncos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. McKinnon C. moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Hume City Broncos dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. McKinnon C. will face Magic (#11) in Hawthorn in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hume City Broncos will play on the road against Waverley Falcons (#3) in Mount Waverley and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
