Regular Season Round 12: Kilsyth C. - Albury W.B. 93-75
Date: May 29, 2016
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Bandits (6-7) lost on the road to fifth ranked Kilsyth Cobras (6-5) 93-75 on Sunday. Kilsyth Cobras outrebounded Bandits 43-32 including 28 on the defensive glass. Bandits were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Timothy Lang (206-85, college: Stetson) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Avery Johnson (190, college: Cal-Davis) contributed with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Kilsyth Cobras' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) replied with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Greg Mays (203-93, college: Green Bay, agency: Court Side) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bandits. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kilsyth Cobras maintains fifth position in League with 6-5 record which they share with defeated Bandits. Loser Bandits dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Kilsyth Cobras will face league's leader Geelong Supercats at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bandits will play against Sabres (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
